Who We Are

Founded in 2003, the Campus of Performing Arts (COPA) is a leading private music institution in South Africa, offering hands-on, industry-aligned music education across four dynamic campuses — Midrand, Pretoria, and Durban.

Our full-time music courses are designed to launch real careers in today’s music industry, with specialist training in:

  • Music Performance (Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard)
  • Music Production (including Sound Engineering, and Sound Technology)
  • Music Business

Each course is delivered by experienced facilitators who are active music industry professionals, combining academic excellence with real-world expertise. Students also benefit from essential training in Stage Presence, Music Business, and other professional development modules, ensuring they graduate career-ready.

All COPA campuses feature fit-for-purpose music facilities, including:

  • Professional recording studios
  • Equipped technology centre 
  • On-site performance venues
  • Dedicated practice rooms

COPA is provisionally registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training under the Higher Education Act of 1997 (Registration Certificate No. 2011/HE07/004, valid until 31 December 2028).

Accreditation

Campus of Performing Arts (PTY) Ltd.

Campus of Performing Arts (PTY) Ltd. is provisionally registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training under the Higher Education Act of 1997 (Registration Certificate No. 2011/HE07/004, valid until 31 December 2028).

Full accreditation by the CATHSSETA also allows COPA to train previously disadvantaged individuals in learnerships, bursaries, and internships (as and when Government SETA Funding permits), with courses found on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
